Iron Horse Tavern: Experience an American Cocktail Bar Destination

I visited Morgantown over the summer for a cousins wedding. While there I stopped into the Iron Horse for lunch and some beers. Was absolutely delicious. My cousin then had his after party after the wedding here. The food they made was absolutely delicious and was a great place to drink and hang out late into the night.

Our server, Kayla, was exceptional! She was prompt, cheerful, attentive and knowledgeable regarding Gluten-free selections on the menu! Have been on the road for some time and have eaten at numerous restaurants, have to say this was one of the best places we've stopped. Highly recommend!

We have been to Iron horse many times and love it! We recommend it to all new to the area and take our family there when they visit. We love the atmosphere and vibes mixed. Loving the new renovations/changes to brighten up the space and new additions and changes to the menu. The cocktails are always delicious. And if you haven’t been to their brunch… you’re missing out!

Great burgers. The roasted brusselspouts are very good. Nice beer selection. A bit on the expensive side for a local draft beer.

My husband and I just happened to be driving through Morgantown, WV and we decided to make a stop for lunch… We thought it would be cute to go to ‘Iron Horse Tavern’ because our first date was at a restaurant with the same exact name, back in GA. We were NOT prepared to eat some of the best food of our lives. I had one of the best smash burgers I have ever eaten (it’s literally called ‘The G.O.A.T.’); it was so phenomenal that I actually ordered a second one. We also ordered the ‘Smokeshow’ Omelette and it was the perfect amount of spicy & savory that you could want on a chilly day. 20/10 quality ingredients & freshness. On top of the food being out-of-this-world, the service was astronomically amazing. Our server Curtis went above & beyond to accommodate our allergies, and never made us feel like a bother with our many questions. We never once had to ask him for anything; by the time we wanted a refill on our drinks, he was already delivering them! He did all of of this while also managing several other bigger tables at the same time too! This was an experience that has my husband and I planning a weekend getaway to come back to Morgantown — we truly can’t thank Curtis & ‘Iron Horse Tavern’ enough for such a delightful meal!!! If you are traveling through Morgantown, WV, and looking for a phenomenal meal & the best customer service, you will regret not stopping here!!!!!

Overall, a delicious meal and great night out! The atmosphere was casual but not crowded. The food was delicious - we got a umami mushroom smash burger and cauliflower tacos and beers. All very tasty! I do wish the burger was a tad bigger in portions but I didn’t leave hungry.

The food and service is always good. I just wish the bartender would have gotten off his phone and helped the waitress when she was the only person seating people, taking orders, running drinks and food, and bussing tables. He was playing on his phone drinking a beer when she was running around by herself.

Afternoon brunch, dinner for the evening or just to enjoy an adult beverage you can’t go wrong with Iron Horse! I’ve been going since 2014 and they never disappoint. I’ve had everything from brunch, soups and salads to burgers and desserts. Great food, large fresh portions and very friendly staff! They’ve also got a great selection of alcohol to fit anyone’s drinking tastes. Everything is priced really well for the quality and size.
